Bring your teddy bear and be prepared for teddy bear stories and snacks at the Blue Bunny. Most appropriate for ages 2-6.  Free, but space is limited, so please pre-register.


Animal Rescue League of Dedham Visits The Blue Bunny
Thursdays, July 16th and August 13th, 11 a.m.
Our good friend and ARL outreach coordinator Beth Finn will be back to show and tell about some of the amazing animals that stay at our very own Animal Rescue League on Pine  Street in Dedham. Free and appropriate for all ages.


Beantown Toy Day at The Blue Bunny
Friday, July 17th, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Meet the "Boston Bean" in person, see the Beantown  mobile, and come to an open demo and build-a-bean day to celebrate these local bean toys.  Includes a magic show by beantown originator Tom Hayes, along with lots of fun demos and giveaways.



 Meet author Hallie Durand:  "Dessert First" visit and booksigning
Saturday, July 25th, 11 a.m. til noon
If you miss Hallie Durand at the Dedham Public Library on July 24th, visit her at The Blue Bunny on Saturday morning, the 25th, for a sweet-filled booksigning and Q and A.  Dessert is the main character in Hallie's new chapter book for early readers, and she loves, you guessed it, dessert. Join us as we celebrate with some great treats and a great story too.

The Blue Bunny visits the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Ave., Milton

Tues, July 14th, 10:30 a.m.  Meet Children's Fantasy author Julie Hahnke, author of The Grey Ghost, as she entertains and educates using themes from her medieval fantasy novels. Learn about medieval weapons, birds of prey, the life-cycle of the luna moth, and cap it off with a demonstration of the bagpipes during this uniquely informative presentation.  Perfect for kids and families ages 7 and up. Milton Public Library Children's Room.


Tues, July 21st, 10:30 a.m.
Meet Canine Ambassador Catie Copley and author Deborah Novaks. There is a brand new picture book adventure starring the Copley Plaza Hotel's Catie Copley, and this time, she has a new French friend.  Meet the wonderfully gentle Catie, originally trained as a guide dog, along with Copley  Plaza concierge Jim Carey, and author Deborah Novaks for a storytime reading you won't soon forget.  Books in both English and French will be available for sale and paw-tographing by the famous Catie!  Milton Public Library Children's Room

Blue Bunny visits the Dedham Public Library, 43 Church Street

Friday, July 24th, 7 p.m.  Meet author Hallie Durand, for "Dessert First" booksigning and cupcake decorating!     Durand will introduce us to her debut early chapter book Dessert First and its main character Dessert Schneider, a spunky third-grader whose family runs a restaurant, and who, you guessed it, loves to eat dessert first! Talk of sweets may stimulate our guests' appetites, and we are offering a cupcake decorating workshop following the reading and presentation.  Registration is required for the cupcake workshop.  Please visit or call (781-751-9283) the Main Library Children's Room to sign up.  Program held in Dedham Public Library Main Hall.  ·


Tuesday, July 28th, 2 p.m.
Meet Author Illustrator John Lechner and Children's Musician Amy Conley for a creative extravaganza!  John Lechner will share his hot-off-the-press picture book The Clever Stick, the story of an intelligent, sensitive being who struggles to express himself.  Drawing demonstrations and great sing-along music by Amy will accompany the program, which takes place on the Library lawn, weather-permitting.  Otherwise, it will be held in the building, downstairs. Books will be available for sale at all library events through The Blue Bunny.
