Friday Night Bedtime Storytimes
6:30 p.m.
Our summer bedtime storytimes were a hit, and we will be offering them again one Friday evening each month, starting on January 22nd at 6:30 p.m. Join the Blue Bunny storytime team with your little ones for an evening event full of stories and a simple craft. Pajamas and preregistration recommended, but not required. Scheduled for Fridays January 22nd, February 19th and March 19th.


Special Winter Bedtime Storytime with children’s author and illustrator Lee Harper
Friday evening, February 12th, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Lee will share his new celebration of winter fun, Snow! Snow! Snow!--a colorful and joy-filled picture book for young children. "This is a celebration of snow and speed, pure and simple -- readers will understand exactly why, after landing with a bone-rattling SPLOOMPH, the kids have only one thing to say: 'Again! Again!'"-- Kirkus Reviews. Join us for a fun hour of stories and a simple snow-y craft for kids of all ages. FREE


Special “Valentines for the Zoo” Storytime with Catching Joy.
Monday, February 15th
All ages welcome for our vacation week storytime. Get set for some great animal stories, and then help make special valentines for the animals at the Franklin Park Zoo. It’s all part of the non-profit Catching Joy’s work to teach kids about caring for others (even the animals) and learn about some of the Zoo’s great programs. FREE. 10:30 a.m. All welcome.



NEW! Kids Book Club! “The Year of the Dog” by Grace Lin
Friday February 26th, 4-5 p.m.
For kids ages 7-10, meet, discuss a fun book, and do a fun project. $10. includes paperback copy of the book (read before the meeting!) and supplies for the craft. Please preregister. Our first book, The Year of the Dog, is by the recent Newbery Honor author Grace Lin, and is a fun and funny look at a little girl growing up in a Chinese home in an American suburb. We love this book at the Blue Bunny, and Cheryl and Emma are looking forward to running this bookclub!



Meet Alaskan Wildlife author Debbie Miller

Saturday February 27th, 11 a.m.
Longtime resident and Alaska teacher Debbie Miller has written many children’s books about the wildlife, land and culture of Alaska. Her books, including The Great Serum Race (about the Iditarod) and Arctic Lights, Arctic Nights, have won numerous awards. Debbie will be sharing her latest book, Survival at 40 Below, with us during her visit and will be available for signing books. This is sure to be an interesting event!



Parents Night Out Reception and “Boston Baby” Presentation

Thursday, March 11th
Calling all parents of young children: The Blue Bunny is partnering with the Dedham Parent Time organization to bring this evening open house reception to you! Meet Kim Foley Mackinnon, author of the newly published “Boston Baby: A Field Guide for Urban Parents,” a guide for parents of young children in the Greater Boston area, as she gives a presentation about some of the best resources and info around for you and your child. Enjoy our wine and hors d’oeuvre reception, and take 10% off everything in the store for the evening. Come out and relax with your friends. 7- 8:30 p.m. Adults only please.



Stink and Judy Moody Party with Peter H. Reynolds 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturday March 13th
Celebrate the release of the latest Stink adventure: “Stink #5: Solar System Superhero”. We will also be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Judy Moody Series, and a new Judy Moody Activity book. Join us for some interstellar fun.

Meet New York Times Bestselling author Rose Lewis (“I Love You like Crazy Cakes”) as we celebrate the release of her new picture book, “Orange Peel’s Pocket.” More info to come.
