Thanks for your interest in workshops at The Blue Bunny. We’ve been happy to have a studio room at our new location and are always looking for new ways to connect with the community. We will always try to offer as much as we can for Blue Bunny fans of all ages. Our workshop room is also available for birthday parties. You can rent the room and run your own party, or contact us to find out about opportunities to schedule a preschool storytime birthday party, or a crafting party for school-aged kids with a Blue Bunny staff member to lead the activities. Preschool Storytimes

Ages 2-5

  • Mondays June 2nd through August 25th, 10:30 a.m.
  • Wednesdays beginning July 9th through August 27th, 3 p.m.

Drop-in storytime and crafts for young children and their adult partners. Note: Mon and Wed. sessions during the same week feature the same books and craft. Visit Dedham Square’s new Farmer’s Market on Wed afternoons while you are in the Square. FREE, ages 2-5.
 

 

Summer Art Workshops

Peter H. Reynolds classes for kids
Spend an hour with Blue Bunny proprietor and children’s book illustrator Peter H. Reynolds, and do some creative exercises with drawing and painting.

  • Thurs. July 17th, 11 a.m. – 12 noon, ages 6-8, $20.
  • Tues. July 22nd, 11 a.m. – 12 noon, ages 9-12, $20.

 

Lisa Houck classes for kids and adults

  • Saturday June 28th: ceramic tile painting, kiln-fired to create two keepsake ornamental tiles, 1-2:30 p.m., $28., kids ages 8-up and adults.
  • Saturday June 28th: non-traditional printmaking using found and/or natural objects, 3 – 4:30 p.m., $28., ages 8-up and adults.
  • Sunday July 27th: watercolor painting, landscape or still life, depending on the weather, learning about brushes, texture, and style, 1 – 2:30 p.m., $25., ages 10-adult.
  • Sunday July 27th, watercolor collage cards, create beautiful painted papers, and then cut, tear, and fold to create collage art, 3- 4:30 p.m., $25., ages 10-adult.

 

Cheryl Doucette classes for preschool kids and their adult partners

  • Sat. July 19th : Flowerpot painting and planting for the preschool set; bring home a great summer craft to tend. 11 a.m, $20, ages 3-5, with adult partner.
  • Saturday August 16th: Paint and decorate your own treasure box,--use paint and decorative appliqués to make a wooden keepsake box. 11 a.m., $20, ages 3-5, with adult partner.

 

Intro to Video Production for Kids, ages 9-12

Dedham Public Television will be co-sponsoring a 3-session class for kids ages 9-12 to learn basic camera equipment operation and techniques of planning and shooting a short video piece. The group will meet at the Blue Bunny on Wednesdays July 16th, July 23rd and July 30th from 10:30 a.m. til noon. Just $30 for the 3-wk session, due to the generosity of Dedham Public TV.
